31 DAYS OF WISDOM: Proverbs 9

My preacher has challenged us to read one Proverb a day throughout the month of May. He’s calling it “31 Days of Wisdom.” I’m challenging myself to blog on each one. I pray God gives me insight to share.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
For by me your days will be multiplied,
and years will be added to your life. –Proverbs 9:10-11

Granny passed away on Monday.

She was a 4 foot 11 inch fireball–vibrant, shocking, and…..amazing. The last month she lay shrinking in her bed, quiet and still. Her blue eyes shone when we visited her. Her speech was slurred except when she said, “I love you.”

My children are crying. I don’t think they fully understood that her body was winding down. But praise the Lord, they Know Jesus. And so did Granny. We will see her again.

Granny had wisdom. And my sweet babies have a fear of the Lord that may not equal complete wisdom but saving knowledge and saving faith. Wisdom will increase our days and years.

Sometimes the days and years added to life might just mean Eternity given. Granny waits for us in Eternity with our sweet Jesus.
