31 DAYS OF WISDOM: Proverbs 30

My preacher has challenged us to read one Proverb a day throughout the month of May. He’s calling it “31 Days of Wisdom.” I’m challenging myself to blog on each one. I pray God gives me insight to share.

Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
Do not add to his words,
lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar. –Proverbs 30:5-6

This makes me want to keep silent. What if my words and my interpretations of His Words are wrong? What if I lead His children down a path that is contrary to His Truth?

I pray that as I lead, teach, blog, the Lord will show me when to keep silent. I pray that He strike me down if I am wrong. I do not want my thoughts to draw anyone away from Him.

Be my refuge, Lord Jesus. Rebuke me as needed.

31 DAYS OF WISDOM: Proverbs 29

My preacher has challenged us to read one Proverb a day throughout the month of May. He’s calling it “31 Days of Wisdom.” I’m challenging myself to blog on each one. I pray God gives me insight to share.

He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck,
will suddenly be broken beyond healing. –Proverbs 29:1

I feel reproved lately. I feel like the Lord has scolded me in some areas. Have I stiffened my neck, Lord?

I want to hear You and heed You.

Have I done the right thing? But when I am put in similar chastening situations, I wonder why God wants to teach me the same lessons again and again.

I pray I do not turn away in frustration and anger. I pray my heart will be softened and I will CHANGE when He rebukes me.
